The ancient feud of Felino, which fortifications guarded the Subapennine roads since
the year 890, dominates the valley between Parma and Baganza rivers.
Due to its strategic position the castle, founded in 1440, has been in the
centre of agelong territorial struggles: the prisons and the torture’s room - still visible -
represent the testimony of that long period of feudal fights.
It has been rebuilt in the XV century and since than it went trough several
great periods of magnificence up to the end of 700.
