Every year, starting from January 1987, on the occasion of the city's Patronal feast day, "The Saint Ilario Award" is awarded to the citizens:"...who have in some way contributed to improving the life of an individual and of the comunity;and to the raising of the city's prestige.."

The city of Parma's gold medal has been awared toVIRGINIO BARBIERI. Strong opposer to fascism right from the beginning of his youth. He suffered persecution and imprisonment and then participated in important roles of command during the liberation war. As advisor and town councillor he contributed to the reconstruction of the city and to its democratic and associative organization, also devoting himself to social voluntary work of which he is the founder and president of the local AVIS and has been director for more than 20 years of the “Assistenza Pubblica”.The city of Parma's gold medal has been awared to TANINO BONATI A representative of the family’s company, founded in 1920 and who has consolidated with time a recognized tradition of quality in artistic glass making. A tradition to which “Filippo Bonati S.r.l.” has remained faithful to during the decades contributing to keeping high the well-known prestige of Parma and of its glass industry.
The city of Parma's gold medal has been awared to FRANCO GORRERI.President of the Banca del Monte Spa, a banking institution deeply rooted in the everyday life of the city and province, and has greatly contributed to the local economic development. Under the guidance of his dynamic chairmanship, the ancient institution has renewed its own company structure reaching new goals in efficiency and this is indicated by the city’s recognition for the support offered to important institutions and cultural initiatives.
The city of Parma's gold medal has been awared to MASSIMO PAURI Professor of the Theory of relativity at Parma University, reliable member of the most important European and American institutions, vice-president of the “Academie Internationale de Philosophy des Sciences” and Senior Fellow of the “Center for the Philosophy of Science of Pittsburgh”, has demostrated with his scientific activity, and with his didactical and freelance journalism, the university and the city of Parma in the scientific and philosophical international field.
The Certificate of Public Merit has been awared to THE “GIUSEPPE VERDI”CHORAL. For more than 90 years it has given dimension and a popular basis to musical culture in our city also taking care of the diffusion in Italy and abroad. Particularly the competition for young lyrical singers announced to the choral, which has been for various decades an instrument for the selection and promotion of great talents recognized in Italy and abroad.
The Certificate of Civic Merit was awarded to CATERINA BUCCELLI and ALBERTO PESCHIERI managers and amimators of the “Consorzio” for the restructuring and updating of Piazza Ghiaia, in which their commitment determined the return of the historical market to the city; it has become more efficient for the companies and more welcoming for the customers.
The Certificate of Civic Merit was awarded to LILIANA CHINI ARTUSI, well-esteemed teacher and headmistress, always well aware of the social function of the school, as well as busily leading important associations in the city directed towards the diffusion of culture.
The Certificate of Civic Merit was awarded to GINETTO FAVA who with great humanity, has collected and co-ordinated company and private donations whilst supporting various charity institutions in the city and personally giving help to unfortunate families.
The Certificate of Civic Merit was awarded to ADRIANO GUARESCHI teacher of sport, since as an athletic trainer has followed the Parmense team in various sport disciplines, contributing to the important success obtained. He also dedicates himself towards the promotion and diffusion of sporting activities within a community of drug addiction.
